Garage Floor Epoxy Failure
Homeowners in Kansas City were getting ready to sell their home, but their garage needed some professional attention. The epoxy floor, installed by a professional about 10 years prior, was peeling, spalling, and showing signs of wear in multiple areas. The brown full flake epoxy color was simply outdated and the homeowners knew there were better alternatives available. They contacted us to find out about their options. We suggested a seamless install by opening up and filling the middle seam. They agreed and selected our most popular color, California Grey.
Our Epoxy Installation Process
We used high end equipment to grind and remove the old epoxy in a clean and efficient manner. Next on the agenda was crack chasing, that is, cutting into cracks to remove any loose material and allow room for the filling to adhere. Once the crack and spalling fill was completed, we sanded the stairs and perimeter to prepare for the epoxy and flake installation. Finally, we applied the California Grey flake epoxy system.
The clients were thrilled with the newly updated color and the dramatic increase in gloss level. Their durable new floor looked modern and elegant. They decided to paint their garage walls with the neutral tone in the California Grey epoxy system (after our images were taken).
