The Challenge
A downtown Kansas City couple owned Calacatta Gold marble countertops that were susceptible to etching and staining. Despite the husband's careful attention to wiping up spills promptly, acidic foods and liquids would inevitably damage the surface. The homeowners grew tired of having to be extremely cautious with their counters.
Our Solution
Victory Cleaning Systems applied anti-etch protection through a multi-step process: We masked surrounding surfaces and honed the marble to remove the upper layer, erasing existing damage. We then applied the anti-etch coating and used UV light curing technology to set the treatment. Finally, we restored the marble to a highly polished, reflective finish. We were actually one of the first three countertop anti-etch installers in the nation to purchase this custom-made cart for the UV curing process.
