Why does professional epoxy cost more than DIY kits?
DIY kits use acid etch (poor prep) and water-based epoxy that peels. We diamond grind and use 100% solids epoxy or polyaspartic—it costs more but lasts 10-20x longer. Most of our work is fixing failed DIY jobs.
What's the difference between epoxy and polyaspartic?
Epoxy is time-tested and affordable. Polyaspartic cures faster (1-day install), is more UV stable, and handles temperature better. Both are excellent—polyaspartic costs more but has advantages for Kansas City's climate.
How long does installation take?
Standard epoxy: 2-3 days (Day 1: grind/prep, Day 2: coat, Day 3: topcoat). Polyaspartic: often 1 day. Cure times vary by product and weather.
Will the coating peel like my old one did?
If properly prepared (diamond ground, not acid etched) with commercial-grade products, no. Peeling comes from bad prep or cheap coatings—we use neither.
Can you coat over my existing epoxy?
Usually not—existing coatings must be removed. However, if your current coating is sound and properly adhered, we may be able to abrade and topcoat it. We'll assess during your estimate.
What about hot tire pickup?
